Hi everyone!
I was wondering what stock features are lost when you unlock the bootloader on 4.3 (X-reality, Bravia Engine, BIONZ, etc..)
X-Reality as far as I know is lost, with his friend Bravia Engine.
Bionz, like sony stated, is a chip (so a piece of hardware) this will continue to work?
Can somebody confirm if this is true?
Thank you,
Gabriele
That page only says the known issue with Z1 breaking the camera functionality on 4.2
What i want to know is which applications or hardware implementations use DRM keys to work.
Will BIONZ work without DRM? Will Bravia Engine work without DRM? Will X-Reality work without DRM?
Is essentialy this, my question.
If I lose DRM, what I lose, with the exception of warranty?
Thank you for your time,
Gabriele
X-Reality wil stop working, the Xperia Z1 has X-Reality not Bravia Engine nor Bravia Engine 2; At least the camera work now, but before 4.3 it didn't, You won't be able to use PCC, SUS, Bridge nor OTA updates (unless you relock the bootloader), Track ID and other Apps might stop working (Xperia Privilege, etc)
It'll be wise to check the XDA forum.
Are you going to flash a Custom ROM or just root your Xperia? if the later you don't have to unlock your bootloader
And what about BIONZ, for image processing... is that working?
Yeah, I'm going to root... but root without /system ro is pretty useless.
