Perhaps I'm using too much MIUI, or coming from IOS 7. But accessing the camera from the lockscreen by pressing the camera button works fine. But when changing to the front camera, the lockscreen appears. After taking a picture and trying to view the picture again by selecting it....the lockscreen appears.
Feature request
1. All camera features accessed before unlocking the phone should work without having to unlock the screen
2. Pressing the camera button once doesn't automatically put the picture into a separate "album" thereby not able to view the other pictures that were taken using the on screen camera button. If the setting for the burst mode "standard" is on....any picture taken w/ the hardware camera button causes the pictures to have a "burst" icon in the albums....and selecting it goes into some special folder even though only 1 picture was taken. If there were multiple photos...I can understand.
3. Viewing folders based on different rows shows either a full screen of icons, or only 2 rows of icons. This depends on if you have a lot of apps in a particular folder and if it's located on the 3rd row of the home screen, or the 1 & last row of the home screen. I can see why you can only have so much space based on what row they are at....but it makes the UI inconsistent when trying to view all the icons. In this case, IOS or MIUI does a bit better job I think.
Do you have a pin lock/pattery/password? If you do, remove it and try again.
Also there are a lot of lockscreen apps and / or home launchers at the playstore
Removing the lockscreen would defeat the purpose of having the lockscreen in the first place right?
I just started trying all the lockscreen apps...but unfortunately, google play store apps are usually all rated 4-5 stars which makes it very hard to figure out which ones are the better ones.
Besides, choosing which camera to use probably shouldn't affect the lockscreen to begin with....viewing the gallery I can understand why it is locked.
Yes, but allowing users to access the album/other pictures/videos will defeat the purpose of having a pin lock/password/pattern
Indeed, there are a lot of alternatives on the play store, just keep looking
As I was saying, it's understandable why the gallery is locked so other videos/pictures can't be viewed while in the lockscreen. But the implementation of something similar to ios which is to be able to view only the pictures that were taken while in the lockscreen might be a feature to add. This feature addition request could be added for better value.
Either way, the main problem is selecting the front camera while in the lockscreen. Doesn't make sense that the rear camera is the only one that can take pictures and the front requires to unlock the phone.
I'm only requesting this feature enhancement....b/c right now, it's more of an annoyance.
Yhe lockscreen stops access to the phone - the camera launch was put there so that you could get accreess to the camera only almost straight from the power button to save a little time if you need the camera really fast - I honestly don't see how that could be improved on without a security compromise but I understand what you are saying, I was thinking you could access the camera by the camera button alone but then it would be taking a lot of pictures of the inside of my pocket
