Failed Firmware update

Hi

I recently got Xperia P, when last night when i connect my phone to the laptop it said there is some Firmware update, when i continued with the firmware update which took more than 2hrs, it stopped suddenly and gave a error message saying " Firmware update failed", since then i am unable to turn on my phone, when i try to turn on i just get a blank screen with "Sony" that is. Unable to turn it on.

Any suggession?

Dear Goutham. Your not alone. Shared pain is half the pain.

Same prolem here. Updated the new firmware, which was released yesterday, this morning on an xperia SP phone. Since then the phone keeps on rebooting after requesting PIN for unlock. Even the reset button to factory settings has not worked so far.

I update via wi-fi, phone was connected to power supply. Cheers in advance for suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your problems!

You can try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, click start under Support Zone > start under Update phone > Repair phone (in blue text) > Do all this without having the phone connected to the PC.

Then follow the instructions in the program.

To turn off your phone, press and hold the power button and the volume up button until the phone vibrates 3 times.

Hi Alexander,

Would you kindly stop proposing to use PCC or SUS.

That is not the solution. It is like pumping the water out of a leaking boat - instead fix the leaks first.

SONY should get their act together and clean out their mess of bad updates that keep on coming. With each update another feature is missing.
