Hello guys, I have been using Xperia Neo with Android 2.3.4, build number 4.0.2.A.0.62. I have been facing slow android response and want to get rid of it. What can be the reason?
Slow in response for e.g. when I cut the call, it takes time to come back to normal.
When I run 2 apps, and press home key, it shows icons as boxes, and then loads thumbnails slowly one by one.
Also in some operations, it responses very slowly, what can be the reason?
I just want it to run smoothly like an iPhone.
My internal storage is 334MB used and 46MB free
RAM is 186MB used and 93MB free.
I have installed more than 20 apps, and have Avast anti virus. Apps which were movable to SD card, have been moved.
So now tell me. Is it Android's drawback or processor inside Neo?
Thank you so much!
well its low ram which slow down your phone rather then low internal memory ..
Dude, even android os itself recommends McAfee antivirus, so any anti virus won't be the cause. And ya, I remembered, I experienced this slowness even before no antivirus installed.
And if at all it slows down, it won't be 4.5+ rated app on AM
no it wont , i just download avast , and this problem is was way back before when i purchased the phone..
hmm yes its the ram..
@slim n nikhil ..
well avast do consume some amount of RAM right .. so if its not there then it wil free up that amount of RAM automatically..
well i have not tried it maybe its very lite .. so keep it if u wish to
How RAM if it is free above 100MB? So OS gets 100MB ground to free up itself to launch apps smoothly.
Even I thought the same reason of RAM, so sometimes I restarted my phone to confirm it. After restarting I saw some 180MB free and after running two or three apps, phone replis slowly for e.g. while opening Contacts or phonepad. This is so disgusting
I envy my friend who has iPhone.
Also Android 2.3.4 does not have any animation while rotating phone like in iPhone.
Awaiting ICS, hope which can solves the probs
well some apps consume RAM if they are running for long time like fb ..
when you start your phone it obv takes time n lags.. blame your memory card for it not RAM..
and also your internal storage is very very low .. i suggest you keep it atleast 100mb free
This is something that I've sent a lot a feedback about to our developers so hopefully we will see improvements to this in the ICS update.
the issue is not RAM alone, its the CPU that's why we need multi-core phones, and that's why 2012's standard is Quad-cores so we can multitask, saddly Sony will be a WHOLE year behind releasing Dual-Cores while all the other brands will have Quad-Cores among other great features. I wonder if Sony will price the new Xperias at the same level as the Quad-Core phones.
