Experia Z3 - Verizon (Texting Question)

I recently got my father the Sony Experia Z3v . Every time he texts anyone, the text begins with "Hello." We are in different states and I do not have his phone so I cannot play with it to turn off this annoying feature. Anyone have quick instruction steps I can email him so he can end the hellos. Thank you very much for your help.

is he using the preloaded messaging app? or a third party app?

Try Clearing the messaging app data.

How to clear data on apps.
From your Home screen

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find and tap on the messaging app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Restart the phone

l believe the preloaded one. I havent asked him, but I doubt he is technologically adroit enough to fuddle with any type of added one/3rd party one. Thank you for your help.
