I have two unlocked Experia T, aka LTE30p, phones that I am using on T-Mobile US network.
Both of these phones has been verified to have latest Sony Experia SW version and APN settings are set up based on instructions from T-Mobile.
The phones works fine, except when it comes to sending and receiving MMS messages.
Has discussed this problem with T-Mobile's technical support team which sent me a MMS message during this process that came through to my phone as a message notification and an error message "Message cannot be downloaded", which is the same message that comes through when other senders try to send me a MMS.
Has tried to send an image as a MMS message to other mobile subscribers but no one of them even gets the notification.
My two phones works fine with regards to data, both in standard mode and in roaming mode plus when using Wi-Fi.
T-Mobile is currently claiming that the Sony Experia T may not support MMS since there are two Experia phones having the same problem and this phone type not supported by T-Mobile.
Can someone advise how to proceed?
Open Settings - Xperia or More depending on Firmware version then tap Internet settings which will download and set up the correct settings for both Data and MMS
T+Mobile's technical support team in the US just told me that their engineering group has investigated this issue and see this being a phone issue.
Talked with Sony Mobile after having recived the update from T-Mobile who identified my devise being branded for Vodafone in Europe based on my phones IMEA number .
The SonyMobile representative then said that the issue with MMS service not working in the US is most likley related to the branding and that SonyMobile not guarantee that all services works.
Conclusion is that the Experia T phone works fine with regards to voice, SMS and data service but does not support MMS service when used in the T-Mobile US network. Hence make sure you test all services as soon as you get a new phone, that not is sold by the operator, so you can return the phone if it not meets you minimum requirements.
Might try the Experia T phone in AT&T's mobile network if I can find someone with a suitable SIM that wants to try, but this will be a separate chapter.
