Exchange sub folder sync and notification

Hello

Does anyone know if the email client fully supports subfolder syncing? I have server side rules set up to automatically move emails to sub folders. Does the Xperia Z either a) sync the subfolder or b) notify when mail arrives in the subfolder?

The iPhone fully supports sync and notifications on sub folders, as does the BlackBerry Z10. I also believe HTC and Samsung modified their Android mail clients to behave in this way. The stock email client on Android can be set to sync but not notify.

Thanks

Darryl

I don't have a Xperia Z to test with yet but i suspect it will work in the same way as our other phones with Jelly Bean. You can access subfolders but they will not synchronize automatically and give you a notification.

I'm not sure but i think this might be supported in 3:rd party clients like Moxier, RoadSync and Nitrodesk.

That's a shame, it's a pretty common use case for business users.

Seems like an easy fix as well, someone patched mail.apk over at XDA and it works perfectly:

Perhaps someone at Sony should take a look at the patch and make the change in the Sony email client.

I received a sony update few days back and it didnt solve this issue. Now its October and still you can't fix means I have to say good bye sony. I tried over a dozen of third party tools too but they dont fit on me.

Point 1 . If you go subfolder there is option available sync option click than.

2. Days to Sync

3. Check Frequnecy

After I click on Check Frequnecy There is 2 option

1 . Off-Peak time Setting

Check Frequnecy   Manual if select ( Automatic Push ) his Detect but if you go angain to check this showing Manual.

My Question is why ( Automatic Push ) not save Default is Save Default i thing working fine.

Mobile Detail.

Model Name Sony Xperia C2305

Operating System Latest 4.2.2

Hi Sony, can you confirm if a fix for this issue is on the cards please. Our business environment uses iPhone, HTC and Samsung already all of which the user can maintain server side folder rules and still be notified of new items. The HTC even has a view 'unread+all'. I can't understand why such high regarded devices from the people of Sony don't realise this is an issue.

Please advise?

Default email app will sync but will not show the notification for folder/sub-folders other than the primary inbox. you can go to each folder you want to sync and then click on setting to sync them individually but you wont get notification for new emails to those folders but they will sync.

Use Cloud majic from app store and it does the job pretty well for syncing and notifying for new email, moreover, it will display the emails as conversation or threaded view as well to track all the emails exchanged for the same subject within the folder.

Hope it help you.
