Exchange Active Sync Unable to Send Emails

I am using Xperia Miro since last week, i can't send emails by ActiveSync wih my gmail account, but i can receive emails.

I have reset the account several times, but unable to send emails.

Can someone help me to fix it.

Hi there.

The Gmail account is the main account for this unit. It should be set using the "Mail" app on the unit or under Settings>accounts and Sync> New account> Google.

The Exchange account is mostly intended for Domain/work e-mail, the issue with it is that you need a lot of info to set it up, like the incoming and outgoing servers addresses and sometimes the domain name.

If you wish to use the exchange option for gmail then you will need to tap on the option to set it manually. Then select "Imap" and enter the outgoing and incoming e-mail servers.

We strongly recommend you set it up on the "Mail" app as this will grant you access to the Google services on the phone, like the Play store and thousands of free applications.

I do have the google account active in the account and sync.I prefer to use Exchage Active sync as i am using this since long time. all the mail settings are done maually as below, still it doesnt allow me to send email.

username:  \robertavarghese

password:

server: m.google.com

SSL: yes

hi there.

Does the e-mail give any error messages or it's just placed in the outbox?

Just to check, download a free app called K9 e-mail. (Exchange E-mail) and try to use it.

This will rule out any settings problem.

Let me know what happens.

Hi Francis,

I have installed K9 e-mail and it works fine, i can send mails through this app. Later i deleted the account in ActiveSync and added new to test, but it doest work. After setting up new account settings i could send 2 email, after that it just placed the message in outbox , no error message at all. i would like to know why it doesnt work.

Same here using Xperia Tipo (Android 4.0.4).

I have an exchange account configured as Exchange ActiveSync in the device.

Receiving messages working, deleting messages working, marking read/flagged messages working (and in the exchange server I see the changes).

But when I try to send a new message, it goes to the outbox folder, and there remain...

No error appears.

Retry send doesn't work

This would make this device unusable for my company, since we need EAS (basic user level; 200 units...)

I have found this bug filed:

Since I have full control over the server side, I enabled the chunkin support and I can send messages with the Sony Xperia Tipo and an exchange account.

i cant do this, as i am using gmail. i hope sony will fix this in the next update.

now my email works, after the phone update everything works fine.

I think sony fixed it in the recent update.
