Hi there, I’m new to this forum. I’m using an old Windows XP SP3 system and my mobile phone is a W580i. It’s outdated, I know…. Last week, as I was trying to update the Sony software PC Companion, I had a power blackout at my house. After a restart, a deinstallation and a registry cleaning, I retried to install the software, but since then, whenever I made an effort to install PC Companion, I always got the same error message, which says: “Installation aborted, there is a more recent version already installed on your computer. This version has to be uninstalled, before you’re able to install the older version. But there isn’t an older version, there is nothing to uninstall. Anybody any ideas, what to do about this problem.
