error in both smus and pc companion!

early this morning i've receive notification stating that ICS is available for my phone but when i connect my phone to upgrade it, an error keeps on appearing stating some sort of network problem. by rights there are no connection nor network problem on my pc because i am sufing some xda at the same time. do give some advice regarding this. do i need to uninstal both application and re-instal it back?

I believe they were having network issues and were working to resolve them.

All (official) methods of updating are not working at this date SUS, companion and online software attempts crash.  Official comment is that there are server issues with one update to say resolved then off again.  I'm not sure how Sony will rectify this apart from locking server resource off and updating region by region and reducing the loads.  Still attempting to get 6.0.A.3.75 let alone ICS with the server keep going unreachable.

Looks like if you want it now you need to use the XDA option flash and earlier build then ICS over the top.  I'm sure things will ease off if your willing to wait a week or more but the customer service has been less than epic to date.  Kudos to the guys on the forum it's like wild fire but someone somewhere needs to review the plans for future upgrade routes assuming there still exists a customer base at that point.
