Hi all,
I have recently updated my Z3 (D6603) to Android 5.1.1 by OTA update. After the update I appear to have a weird encryption issue. My phone was enrypted before I updated.
I have a device policy that needs my phone to be encrypted. I am getting en error via the status bar saying 'Device encyption required'. When I click this it takes me to the device policy app where I am unable to do anything re encryption.
So I had a look in the security settings and it shows my phone as encrypted. So I thought it would be best to decrypt the phone and then re-encrypt it. However when I click the 'Encrypt phone' setting nothing happens, the menu just stays where it is.
I have restarted my phone and cleared the cache just in case, but the problems presists.
Any help would be great.
Andrew
Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
Thanks for that, repaired the phone.
Now another wierd thing has started where my widgets (I currently use the Now widget and the Google Cal widget) do not update after a day. Only way I can seem to fix it is by restarting my phone.
Thanks
