Emergency Call function from a locked screen is not working in India

Emergency Call function from a locked screen is not working in India, only US emergency numbers(e.g. 911) can be dialed.. 100/102/108 and others are disabled. It says "Call not sent, 108 is not an emergency number!" I have brought the phone from india only. I have tried older Sony Erricson Model(Xperia Arc) from my friend and its not working there as well.

I think this has never been tested by Sony in their new mobiles as well. When can we get a fix for this?????? Attached the screen shots below:

All phones, Android, Samsung, iOS don't support numbers other than 911 and 999.

@JealousSubtlety I have tried with Motorolla and HTC phones and Its working there! I have tried this on other phones, and then only posted. Anyway you are not going to call US numbers for emergency from India!

Can anyone from Sony Xperia™ Support team look into this????

Few more details that I should have posted initially: we can dial the emergency number after unlocking the phone. This problem is only when the phone is locked and we use emergency call option.

I have read "Emergency numbers and mobile telephones" in wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_telephone_number

And came to know about the list of preprogrammed numbers and those are working fine when I tried to call from locked screen. Only the Indian Numbers are not working.

However, since the software is customized for specific zones(Here for India users), why SONY cant preprogrammed the zone specific Emergency numbers( here Indian numbers)  as well?
