Hey guys, I hope this isn't a repeat.
I've just updated my Xperia Z to Android 4.2.2 and everything seems OK so far except my emails. I use the phone for business and so my Exchange Server emails are an important part of what I need it for.
I use the default email app on the phone.
My inbox no longer shows emails in html format just in plain text with lots of blue urls for pictures that would be there.
There is no check box in settings to either turn on or turn off html and the 'button' that allowed me to show pictures from senders is no longer there.
Any help or suggestions on how to fix this or if there is a third party email app that will work with Exchange Server. Most apps that I see only work with GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc.
Thanks, Martin
I tested this here but for me the phone displays the emails in the same way as MS Outlook does.
If you insert a hyperlink to a picture it will not display the picture but the text set and when you press that it wants to open the browser. If i insert a picture or copy parts of web pages it will display the pictures in the email (after pressing View pictures at the top).
If you open these emails in MS Outlook, do they look different?
If you want to try another client you could try RoadSync, Moxier or Nitrodesk.
I was told by Sony Support that there was an incompatibility between our mail server (Exchange 2003) and the latest version of Android. We have just received a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active to trial which is also running Android V4.2.2. The stock e-mail client on this model has no issues displaying html e-mails. I'm really disappointed that a company the size of Sony have screwed up what was a top notch business device and are unable to resolve the fault.
Has this issue been resolved? I just got this phone and if this has not benn fixed I have to go to something else, need to know asap. Not being able to see HTML email with the pictures is a major problem and not a good out of the box issue for Sony's first phone
