email problems

Hello.

Im new in the forum and i have a little problem.

Is it possible to have an exchange account, and turn off the email on it? I have my personal account (hotmail) and my work account on the phone, but I would like to turn off the email on my work account (exchange)? I use the contacts and calendar from work on my personal phone, but I don’t want to receive work emails outside working hours J

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I'm not completely sure what you mean by turning off Email. If you don't want your Emails to auto sync you can always turn the sync off for Emails. Go to Settings > Exchang ActiveSync > Your@exchange-account > Unmark "Sync Email".

My problem is, that i would like to use my contacts and calendar, from my work account .(exchange)  but even though i turn off the email sync, it still show the exchange account under my emails. Can i remove the exchange-email from the email app?

Its all fixed. 

I dont know what i did, but now everything works. the email still shows, but it dosent sync. Thank you.

You will not be able to remove the email account from the Email application, but if you have turned off the sync for email, it won't be any new emails until you manually sync them.
