Email problems

According to my ISP, my phone is "Pac-Man" -ning my mails ie my phone is diverting all my mails to it, but not downloading them!! Is this possible, or are they trying to cover up a server problem? Funny thing is, for 2 months i was happily receiving my mails on both my phone and desktop, then, without changing any settings on either, couldnt receive mails on either, I have had to delete my email accounts on my phone (can only receive g-mail via the app), which is now driving me mad, as can only access my mails via ISP website, or at home......

To be honest based on this information, it does sound as though settings have been changed via the ISP. On the basis that Gmail is still able to send and recieve emails I believe there is no fault with the handset.

Thanks for the reply. I too feel that my ISP have problems, as i each time i contacted them, they gave me a different reply eg" your mailbox is full", etc etc. Their rationale for the "pacman"story was based on the fact that the IP address that the mails were going to was a "209" ie a hand -held device.....

Strangely enough, even tho' i have deleted their email account from my phone (that, by the way,i am really enjoying), still only a percentage of my mails ending up in my inbox. I can see this as i have set up forwarding( but with the option to store), to my yahoo address. Oh well, as they say here in SA, "aleuta continua"

I like to commit that I had a similar problem with my phone Elm.

All of a sudden I couldn't send mails. At first I thought I had changed something badly so I checked 3-4 times the connectivity settings. Then I thought the phone got a bug. Instead the thread you see contains the solution.

Delete the mail account and then add it again. This guarantees that the internal technical settings are renewed !
