It may be worth clearing and reinputting the emai laccount details again as it sounds like there is a problem with the email application: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All Email > Clear Data.

anyway, did this work? because the day after i connected my smartwatch2 the numbers went nuts.
the email app, with just 1 account now says "5" even though it has no email to display.
weirdly it went "nuts" as it did so and reloaded a lot of emails previously removed.
