EFS folder problem

Hello

(Sorry if there is any mistake with my English)

Days ago, the phone rebooted itself (I think it was with no RAM) and when it finished, there was no cellular signal. Another reboot and restarting original settings (without wipe data) didn't work. So, I found that it could be a problem with its IMEI. So, I went to the settings, about phone*:

Baseband version: unknown

IMEI: unknown

IMEI SV: unknown

Wifi mac adress: normal (:))

Bluetooth adress: unvaliable

As I saw, the EFS folder is where phone storages IMEI, blutooth and wifi adress. But most places I saw said EFS problems usually start when changing ROMs and dangerous things - and I did nothing like this. Is there a way to fix this? Even with root it seems to be a hard thing to do. I saw a post that says I can just erase the EFS folder and reboot, and it will be back there and fixed, but another post said a galaxy s3 entered in factory mode doing this :smileysilly:.

But there is another problem: the EFS folder isn't there. Well, at least if it should be as others. Folders as "/data" aren't readable, but I can at least see that it's there with no root.

I want to have root, but I don't want to unlock my bootloader and I didn't found another way to root.

And.. maybe a repair with update service?

I just want to backup the data (not the apk) of a few apps but if I don't want to have a big work to root, backup the apps and then have to root again to restore :smileysilly:.

I don't understand why Sony blocked adb backup and restore if there ins't any Sony's backup e restore app as other Xperias have, and nothing in PC companion too!

I don't need ways to backup contacts (synced with Google), calls, messenges etc, the apps' data is more important.

And I know that the "Alternatives in how to backup Xperias" is a try, but the max that can be done. =/

*Phone number didn't show even before this, so I think there is no problem with it.

Thanks

Xperia mini pro sk17a, android 4.0.4, 4.1.B.0.431

I recommend that you start by trying a repair of the phones software using PC Companion or Update Service and see if that helps. If not, please contact your dealer or a service location to have this problem fixed.

Regarding backup of app data i don't know of any way of doing this without root.

and what about another root method, without unlock bootloader?

For more information on how to root your phone i would check this section of the forum: http://talk.sonymobile.com/community/support/android_development.

I do however recommend that you contact a service location to have this problem fixed. If you root your phone or unlock the boot loader you may void the warranty of the phone so that you can't have this fixed on warranty.
