Editing texts do not work

I'm used to the editing functions in WindowsMobile (mark, copy/cut &paste, in and between applications) and fromm what I'm able to find out, it works in the same way in Android.

But, on my new Xexperia V, it plainly do not work at all. As i'm very satisfied with the phone in other respects, this is realy bad, as moving text between applications and edtiting eg. word documents are essential to me.

Marrking text do (at least sometimes) function. But it is planly impossible to make the cut/copy mini menus to occur.

At what point do you get stuck with this, is it the selecting of chuncks of text or the actual copy function itself?

Both, it seems...:smileyconfused:. 

But, paste do function, if I manage to get something onto the clipboard:  I do use LastPass. When using the functon in that program "Copy PW (or UN)" the text is copied to clipboard.

When then pointing in the actual data field, I get option "paste" on the screen and can paste the UN/PW.

Exploring at bit more...(I have restarted the phone a couple of times since the former post)

HM, seems application dependent.

  • Now a copy menu occurs at top of screen when i try in Chrome browser.  But impossible to copy the URL
  • In the NYT app, it is impossible to use the marking funcction. The app's copy function copies the URL (which probably is the intention...)
  • Kingsoft office, works. But in text editor, I'm not able to open keyboard. Works OK in spreadsheet. Puzzling...

That is odd. These functions are content specific and will vary depending on the application that you are using. For this to work one would assume the developers of each specific application would need to include support for this function. In this circumstance it unfortunately appears some of them have not and I would have to advise that you direct this towards the developers in question.
