I bought a new Xperia V on 4-Jul. Started from 12-Jul, I cannot hear the calls occationally from the ear speaker, that I have to swift the call to the speaker on the back of the phone.
I went to Sony Service Center on 13-Jul but the staff there claimed that I pressed the "mute" buttom, which doesn't quite make sense as "mute" works on microphone, not speaker. However, the ear speaker was working when I was in the Service Center. Nothing was fixed.
The ear speaker was not working again yesterday on 17-Jul. I have tested it with my friends. I have tested it with dialing *#*#7378423#*#* as well.
Please help to solve this problem. I just bought it 2 weeks ago. Thanks.

This will be a long story.
I tried everything you suggested. It didn't work. So I sent my phone to local Sony Service Center on 18-Jul-13. They finally contacted me that I can collect my phone on 31-Jul-13.
They have replaced 4 defective parts.
I collected my phone on 03-Aug-2013. I went back in 2 hours because the ear speaker/front speaker was not working AGAIN. Surprisingly, it worked again and they told me it was some plastic cover which caused the problem.
I was glad that the problem was solved.
Today, 05-Aug-2013, the ear speaker/front speaker fails to work again.
These days we call our phone smart phone. Still it's basically a phone. How can I use it as a phone when the ear speaker is not functioning? Am I the only one who experienced this problem? I bought this phone on 04-Jul-2013 and I have been to the local service center 4 times in 1 month. I really cannot afford keep spending my time going to the service center. All I have been told was they will try to fix this phone but they could not replace a new one.
When I decided to change my iPhone to Xperia, I really have a high expectation towards Sony. Now after 1 month I bought my Xperia V, I hardly use it. I'm still using my iPhone 3G.
I'm sorry to hear that. Since your phone has now been visiting the repair center multiple times I suggest that you contact your local support team to check how you should proceed with this.

Hello heidi,
I'm not sure if you got your problem resolved, but I am having the same problem with my Xperia S. The earpiece is not working properly and I can only hear sound through the speaker on the back of the phone. It's very frustrating, what did you do to get your problem resolved?
Thanks.
