Does Z3 Compact screen need protector?

I got my phone today.The guy who was working at phone shop offered me screen protector.I didnt use protector with my galaxy s2(previous phone) for 3 years and it never get scratched.SHould i use screen protector?

This is your choice - I use one but others don't just like when my son had a S2 he used a protector where as you didn't
