does not install new sofware keeps turning on and off

 I had a vires warning  know my phone wont turn on trying to do a software re install but keeps turning of i have managed to download the upgrade but it wont install keeps turning of

Have you tried running a software repair or try using SUS found here - When using PCC fully switch your phone off then on PCC select support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue select repair my phone tablet and follow the instructions - When promted remember to hold volume down then connect your usb cable

That is what I am trying to do running version 214.6201404170858 it comes up with installation failed as when it is up loading the phone cuts the power off

:smileyplain:that is what i am doing with the latest version i have even donloaded the latest version of PC compinion and that does the same

What operating system are you using? Is it a 64bit or Win 8/8.1 as these are known to cause issues and need to be ran in compatibility mode choosing a 32 bit system like Win7 32bit - The last thing to do is try using a different Pc 32bit and check your usb cable

@LFC63 : Have you used the reset button located under the back cover at the bottom of the phone ? Try pressing it for 10 seconds and see if the problem solves ? If doesn't then run SUS or Sony PC Companion in compatibility mode (if you are running windows 8 or 8.1. If not then run normally) and repair your software. I suggest using factory data reset option when repairing. Also make sure that your phone is completely charged before starting the procedure. If all fails then take your device to the nearest sony service center. Hope this helps.
