Even after hard resets, my screen display is garbled. I noticed this after about a month of no usage. I also tried the latest software update, but no difference. I suspect a firmware or hardware issue. Anyone else experience this or know how to resolve? It will likely need to be sent in.
To describe the problem, it's as if the screen is offset halfway down the screen; however, items are not readable most of the time. The touch screen seems to still respond to touches; however, I have no idea what I am pressing.
This first screenshot is the tablet booting up,

the second is what I see most of the time,

the third screenshot is when I can make out some readable parts of the display, but then it fades away into a garbled screen, such as what is seen in the second screenshot.

I get a very, very similar issue! It happens on mine on the left hand side if I hold it too firmly. And I don't mean so firm I'm damaging it, but simply firm enough not to drop it. I can sometimes get rid of it by tapping around the screen, but not always. It has been like it pretty much since I got it but I haven't used it a whole lot. Mine flickers all kinds of colours of the rainbow and is really annoying.
Howdy !
Same story here, device starts into "northern lights, bit of a distingushed divider bar in the middle from left to right on landscape screen, sometimes displays the "northern half" of the screen in the "southern half" of the display, i.e. I'm getting the top-screen icons etc. into the middle of the actual screen.
Sometimes reacts to touch, more often it seems to not do anything.
Clear display eventually fades into "northern light stripes again" - very much like on the provided screenshots.
Tried the software update tool, went for a factory default wipe & install, no improvement.
Do we have any solution so far ?
Is tis possibly related to the 4.3 upgrade ?
I haven't found a solution and this morning I can't seem to make it go and its driving me insane. It's such a great little tablet and I've hardly used it because of this issue. What model do you all have? Mine is wifi 32GB, preordered way back before it came out last year.
Unfortunately given the nature of the problem and what you have tried to fix it so far I would have to advise you to return the phone so that it may be assessed by an authorised repair agent sorry.

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the reply. I bought my tablet online, and my closest Sony store is a 3hr drive away (Australia). What should I do?
