Display gets pixelated - black screen

Hey community,

I'm facing following problems with my Sony Xperia SP:
The Problem appeared the first time today. If i wanted to unlock my phone and pressed the unlock-button but the display keeps black although the backlight goes on.
I first thought the phone is frozen and tried to do a hard reset. But this did not solved the problem. So I charged the phone till the LED indicator showed green and tried again - the phone keeps frozen.
A few hours later i tried again to unlock my phone and suddenly the display appeared as usual! - It's working again.
But after a few minutes the screen starts getting pixelated - starting from the left upper corner of the display to the right lower corner of the screen till it's totally black and only the backlight is on.

(See attached image)

PS: If this is happening, the display does not react on any interactions anymore.
After pressing the Unlock Button several times the Display appears again as usual and I'm able to use my phone as usual for a while.
But suddenly the screen startes getting pixelated again...

Has anyone an idea whats the reason for that?

Thanks and Regards

Looks like a broken screen or graphics chip

Thanks for your fast reply!

Im just a bit confused as it is working normal for a time. I had this problem already since i have the phone, but for me it was "normal" as the phone has a really bad performance at all. But now this is not happening randomly anymore, now it's continsiously happening that the phone stucks!

Anyhow should be under warranty or? 24months?

How's about "damage under water"-excuse by the dealer? They always use this excuse for evertyhing they won't pay for and reffer to the technical manual which does not allow to use a phone as it is used by anyone....(Thats why i usually avoid trying to stick to the warranty as I'm tired of fighting with my dealer).

Thanks for any suggestions and your experience Slightly_smiling_Face

You could have what's know as a dry joint (cracks in the solder) which hopefully explained will shed some light on this for you - So when your phone is cold it will work fine then as it warms up the cracks in the joint (Solder) expands causing intermittent connections and over time it gets worse untill it stays like this

Did you find a solution to this? This is happening dozens of times every day now.
