So I have the Xperia J with android 4.1.2 and recently i have noticed a very annoying problem. Every once in a while my phone stops recognizing any data stored on the sd card. The album is empty, the ringtones change to default, all playlists and music disappear from the walkman. The apps and stuff are working fine. Rebooting the phone does not help. It eventually comes back on it's own but as you can imagine it's driving me crazy. Especially since the most recent disappearance has been going on since yesterday morning. It seems like each time it gets longer. Also, after plugging my phone into my computer neither the windows explorer nor mediaGo recognize ANY files on the SD card or the Internal storage. All my music and photos are saved on the sd card but i'm pretty sure that the data from the internal storage disappears too. But the apps work fine. When i open an app for cleaning it sees all my files, and both the phone and the computer (when the phone if plugged in) recognize the space that all those files take up. They don't exactly disappear, the phone just refuses to read them. I don't know what other specs of the phone might be useful, I can even list all my apps if it might be a factor.
I would greatly appreciate ANY help
Do you have any task killer or antivirus?
I've got this problem again. It's happened to me three times now, and It's driving me insane, because I don't know what causes this to happen. I've done an update, cleared all my cache, downloaded E.S File Manager and done a system refresh ( which worked for me last time ) And now what? I'm running out of options.
The problem doesn't lie with the card itself but with the phone - It doesn't read the internal memory nor the SD memory! The PC companion won't make a difference. The missing files disappear for a time but then reappear after a while - I cant have this happening! It's frequent and it is not what i expected when i bought the phone, an Xperia J.
Clearly this is a common issue with these phones, judging by this and many other threads, and if you cannot provide us with a real solution other than this cop-out of making us download your PC Companion software I expect to look after my consumer rights and look for a phone that isn't faulty, from another brand, that I'll get my moneys worth out of!
Now please, what useful advice can you offer us about fixing this problem once and for all?
