disappearing apps

My phone is acting up today.
So one of the apps from my home screen disappeared. I looked for it where all the apps are located so I can drag and and drop it back in place but it's not there either.
*the app in question is whatsapp if it makes any difference.

Do you have any Antivirus, taskillers, ram apps or any other intrusive app?

Yeah, it sounded like a good plan up until get an iPhone, I'm not a sheep, I have brain and like to use devices instead of having a device "think" for me.

But in all seriousness, nope none of the above.

So I went to the play store but it says it's already installed. So I can't reinstall it.

I have 8GB of free memory

Is that internal storage or SD card?

Oh, sd card. I have 8 GB on the sd and 10MB on the interal storage.
