Disabling camera button

I keep catching the camera button on the bottom right hand edge of the phone and it's really getting on my nerves. It keeps wanting to take photos when I don't want to.  Can I disable the button?

Simple

Open the camera > settings > more > Quick Launch > Off

There is no 'quick launch' option 😕

Hi @Polly13,

In addition to what @uliwooly wrote.

I just checked in a updated Sony Xperia XA and there is an option to turn this feature off.

I took a screenshot of how it looks in the camera application so you can see where you turn the feature off.

Start the camera application > press the "gear" icon on the bottom left > More and you will see this menu on your screen > Quick Launch > Off.

If you still can't see the option I would recommend that you clear the data for the Camera application, this will not delete any pictures you have taken or videos that you have recorded. To clear the data go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear data.

Let me know how it went! Slightly_smiling_Face

I'm getting a different menu!

I'd take a screenshot but I don't know how!

Sussed it. This is the menu I get.

@Polly13 You could try to switch to manual mode first.

Still no sign of it!

You are missing those options as I believe you changed something in developer options. @Polly13 Can you try to enable back animations?

I have no idea what any of that means. If I 'changed something in developer options' than I was completely unaware of it and wouldn't know how to go about rectifying it.

I thought this stuff was all supposed to be user-friendly?
