Differences between ICS and GB

Why I should update or remain with GB? I read that many users have trouble of ICS, and I'm thinking:

-what are the differences?

-what procent of users have major problems with ICS (like dont working camera, poor performance etc)?

-if I root the phone on GB, how can I backup de firmware and restore it later?

-after rooting and restoring the original firmware, can I have the update of ICS via PC Companion?

-after updating to ICS, can I downgrade to GB?

Thats my questions, and I think many users wonder the same things. Please respond as much as you can. Thank you.

Ufffff, a lot of questions on one place  Slightly_smiling_Face  Anyway everything was explained earlier in this section, just find and read Winking_Face  Regarding rooting GB and "creating image of your current phone", go to xda-developers.com and find answers there, because it's not so easy. Of course it's possible, but not so easy.

I think that I know what you want - to try ICS on your phone, but in case of an issue you want to revert everything back to previous state (GB) with all settings, apps and so on. On GB you have also to unlock bootloader during rooting. After that to install ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM, something like updated standard Recovery mode) which allows you to completely backup your phone (like image, but it creates appr. 5-6 files). In this case is maybe better choice to backup phone by free standard Backup program(s), download Flashtool, install drivers, download riginal GB .tft and original ICS .tft and that's all. By using Flashtool you can anytime flash there ICS or GB. Regarding other questions....no, you cannot simply roll-back from ICS to GB, it's not possible. Regarding your own ICS or GB....yes, updates via PCC should work normal.

Yes, rooted phone can be upgraded normally via PCC. But after upgrade you will loose root and you have to root it again. In ICS is rooting easier, there's no need to unlock bootloader or to install CWM
