Deleting old SMS?

Hello guys! Anybody here knows how can I delete old messages on my phone? I don't want to delete all of them since some are still important. Probably I need to delete about half of these messages. But doing so 1 by 1 would take me ages to do this. So anybody can suggest on how should I do it by batch or something? On my previous HTC phone I could set a limit on how many messages the inbox can store and it just automatically deletes the oldest message when it reaches the limit. But can't figure out how to do this on my xperia phone hence it accumulated that much

Unfortunately you can only delete them one by one or the entire conversation thread sorry.

Or alternatively, if you want to delete then via your pc (which would be a lot quicker!), you could use AirDroid or MyPhoneExplorer (both free)
