My phone was lagging severely and I turned it off, waited a couple of seconds and turned it on... Nothing happened, it does not respond to anything, not charging, not turning on. And also, my PC had to update when I was about to post this, and when I got in my router needed a firmware update, frustrating. Also, my Z2 runs the latest OFW.
Do you get at least the red charging light when attempting to power it on or charge it?

No, nothing at all.

Try using Sony Update Service. I believe it's still active and you can find a download using Google.
Then choose Xperia Z2 from the devices and follow the instructions.
It should reinstall your firmware with a data wipe, or just update firmware without wipe.
MY PHONE IS COMPLETELY DEAD. I bought my Sony Xperia Z2 around 25 days back from Singapore. But very unfortunate that the phone has a tendency to swith off at its own. I tried various methods of reset procedure by pressing combination of volume up/ down and power button and at times red button near the simcard slot, two- three times it restarted by this method. But after that it again switched off and did not respond at all to any button, neither it is charging with wall charger or magnetic charger nor it is connecting to PC. When tries to recharge r connect to PC only red led blinks but nothing happens. When it shutdown last time the battery was charged around 100%.
I tried to charge whole night with magnetic charger but it is not even blinking red led with magnetic charger, red led is blinking only when connected with USB to a wall charger or with PC.
I had been trying to update it with Sony PC Companion but it is not responding even when power button or volume down button is pressed.
Someone please help me out what could be the cause of this problem, and how to switch ON my phone.
SWITCHED OFF/ DEAD XPERIA Z2 D6503 NOT RESTARTING/RECHARGING/CONNECTING TO PC
Only few days back I purchased Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 phone on EBAY.COM for $545 for my personal use in India from seller from Singapore, and for importing it heavy CUSTOM duty of Rs. 4,988/- is also paid for which I do have all the Receipts. This product was advertised that it contains Sony Warranty, and now I checked its IMEI on Sony site it is having warranty till 27th Nov 2015.
For very few days the phone worked well and after that it started shutting down abruptly, I tried Reset procedures by using Red Power off button near sim card housing or using combination key of power on with Volume Up/down keys. At times it worked to restart the phone. But last week it switched off and now nothing is working on it, I tried to reset it while it started in safe mode but it shut down and became completely dead, at that time battery was also around 99% charged, Since then it is completely DEAD and not charging, not restarting not connecting to PC, while USB cable/Charger is connected only Red led blinks and at times it is stable for some time, but nothing happens further.
For this problem I requested Sony Service Centre at Guwahati, but very disappointed when they did not even entertain my request on the pretext that this Phone (IMEI) is not sold by Sony India, so they will not entertain my request even on payment basis. They did not pay any heed even I shown them all the purchase bills and Custom duty paid for this phone. I am totally demoralised and disheartened with this that such a renowned Coy, is behaving like this and not helping me at all. This is also any irony that total cost of this phone to me including Custom duties is much more than the price Sony India is selling this phone in India, because at the time of purchase I was not aware I have to pay this much of Custom duty.
Once again I request SONY company please help me, by giving some solution. I am not aware what went wrong with this phone it Switched OFF and I am not aware weather any hardware went wrong or it is Software problem, your persons should at least check it and identify the problem and suggest the remedial measures. After spending almost my months’ salary on Sony brand for purchasing this phone, how one can just throw it, if it is not working at all. So, please, please repair/replace this phone.
I hope you will not disappoint your valuable customer and help me to resolve this problem.
I shall be very grateful to you for your kind favour, and Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, if you have already tried Xperia Care & finding no solution......as you purchased it on eBay should you not contact the seller direct regarding your problem or eBay do use a very good Resolution Centre.....it can be a bit time consuming but worth a try
