Dead BKB50 keyboard

Hi

I recently purchased a Sony tablet z4 and it came with the accompanying BKB50 keyboard. Everything was going fine until a few nights ago I applied an update to the tablet. After the update the tablet was working fine however it told me I had to apply an update to the keyboard. I left the tablet as it was applying the update, the next day I tried to use the tablet and keyboard however the keyboard was dead. I assumed this was caused by a dead battery however I have tried to charge the keyboard and it shows no signs of life at all. No charging lights. Does anyone know why this could have happened and how I can solve the problem?

Hi,

For how long time have you charged the keyboard? If you recently connected it to the charger, I suggest that you let it charge for an hour or two. If the battery is completely flat, it can take a while before the keyboard can power on and/or indicates charging.

Could you try to perform a hardware reset on the keyboard to see if it reacts? Press and hold down the pair key and, at the same time, slide the power switch downwards and keep it in the down position for 3 seconds.

I already tried that and it didnt work, I think I'll be returning it.

Sorry to hear that. Yes, it sounds like the best idea to do in this case.
