data usage

I very rarely have my data switched on but a week ago sent some pictures via email and some job sheets both were small files and left the data on for about an hour. To be honest i forgot about it. Later that day i got a text to say i had no data remaining. I rang my supplier and had an heated argument with them, as my allowance had only just started. After checking my phones usage i found that i had used 1.3 gig of data in two days. I can't understand how this could be possible has any one had the same problem. How can this have happened with out me knowing.

If you have some apps/games from google play,they might have been updated over mobile data.Even though from google play settings you can select that the updates are done on wifi only.

Settings > data usage > what used your data? 

also do you have auto backup with Google plus? how about auto update apps?

Don't have any games. had the phone 12 months now never had this before. Usually the phone says 6 apps to update or whatever there are and i update over WiFi. Could the settings for this have change if so how do i turn it off. Thankyou for taking time to answer this.

You can check how it is in google play settings. It might be some syncing that has been done,as uli says.

Just checked and it was exchange services that used the data.
