Have had my Xperia Z for 4 days and really like it. Have not had too much time to play with the phone but so far have two issues that I really need some feedback on;
Data connection;
I keep getting a "network error" message on facebook in 3G. At first I thought it was limited to facebook but now I am seeing it with other apps like GMAIL and Hotmail. Its strange because the phone shows full bars H+ but clearly the connection cuts out. Dont have this problem on any of my other phones.
Battery;
One of the reasons I bought this phone was the reports on good battery life, but my experience so far has been different. Im good/paranoid at always closing apps, screen backlight on min/auto, battery stamina mode active with only 1 app (whatsapp) having permission to be active in background. Really having minimum use of the phone because its not my primary, maybe a couple calls throughout the day. But the battery drops in front of my eyes by the percentage while im holding the phone. As an example at 8AM battery was 100% charge, by noon I have 70% and i have only; 2 short phone calls, 2 text messages, check GMAIL once and maybe WhatsApp 10 or 12 times. You can say im using this phone only for whatsapp and facebook right now but this doesnt make sense, whatsApp cannot be draining the battery this badly.
Any help appreciated.
Update Day after: From 100% charge, after 3 hours, a few minutes checking the facebook connection problems and whatsapp, one 10 min phone call, battery is at 66%. I have removed whats app from the permitted apps in stamina mode, so there should be nothing running in the background, but the "estimated standby time" is only 11 hours?! That cant be normal?
Update 2: Stamina mode clearly not working, I have not used the phone and in the last 30 min stamina mode went from showing 14 hours left to 10 hours left. And it says that whether I turn stamina mode on or off.
