Dark front camera

I've only had my phone for a couple of weeks but have noticed that the front camera is SO dark and its basically useless is there any way of making it lighter?

The front camera is VGA,so do not expect too much.

I have a similar problem in Messenger. It is really annoying! Anyone has an idea how to fix?
