D6616 Root... can we use custom ROM's with full camera functionality?

Hey everyone,

For those wanting to root their D6616 without losing anything (especially our precious DRM keys for full camera functionality), here is the XDA post with detailed instructions:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60507399&postcount=171

So, now that we can backup the TA partition with the DRM keys, can we use custom ROM's with full camera functionality after restoreing the keys? Has anyone done this yet?

Thanks y'all,

Johnathan

Well its bad in low light as you will lose the capability of noise reduction otherwise its normal.

Thanks, that's very interesting.

XperiFirm is pretty cool.

I didn't think that the TA partition with the DRM keys would be included with the firmware. I figured it was something generated when installed, etc. or sone separatly from the ROM.

When you download from xperifirm you will get 4-5 fileset. These filesets need to be decrypted in ftf format which further is used to flash in your phone.
Note that it does have TA files, but even if you flash it you wont recover drm features unless you restore TA backup.
