Is it possible to alter the SMS notification such that different senders have a different ring-tone?
I know you can alter the default, but this seems to apply to everyone.

It's not possible to give a contact a personal SMS ringtone as standard.
Perhaps you'll find that feature in some 3rd party SMS application that you can download from Google Play.
