cracked screen

I uprgraded to a xperia with Bell back in February, Along with the phone Purchased a case for it as recommended by he Bell Employee  I treated the phone with extreme care and yesterday the touch screen wouldnt work. I called Bell customer service and they told me to take the phone in to the nearest store. I got to the store and they informed me that the screen was cracked and that I had dropped it. I assurecd them that I had not. and they agreed to send it in but were very doubtful a free repair would not be done owing to the damage was caused by it being dropped. (so basically I have been called a liar)  we took a close look at the screen and it seems that the crack started at the "On" switch on the right hand side and then curves around the screen. Now upon thinking about it it always seemed that to bring up the screen via the switch/button you really had to push firmly.

I have seen the damage caused to phones that have been dropped and it sthat there isnt a single crack the screen almost appears to break the same way as tempered glass

Obviously there is some frequency to this happening and I think Sony should investigate this issue and get it resolved. If its not Im sure there will be an exodus of customers

Well I can tell you Sony UK is aware of it and has asked any owners of this type of phone who gets a cracked screen to contact them as they have accepted that in some cases the screen can be damaged - So if I were you I would say what Sony UK is doing and push to have it repaired under warranty for free
