cracked screen - the biggest disappointment ever in a phone

when I bought my xperia Z3 I had high hopes. red my gsmarena reviews. huge battery, nice design, etc.

Then my kid dropped it from his height...30-40 cms? the screen received from one crash about 10 scratches...I could not believe it. After samsung S4, which barely had any margins left because of the falls BUT NO SCRATCH on the screen...this...and a premium phone...

I paid about 600 euro. huge money in my country (Romania) and this was 2 weeks after the purchase... I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE.

than today i dropped it once more...also about 40-50 cm (when i got out from the car, dropped it)

the screen cracked! I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE. there are forum posts on the xperia forums saying that it has gorilla glass or some other similar glass...this is no resistant glass. it s just simple glass...premium phone....

i will go tomorrow to service and see if they change it and maybe it was a mistaken series or something....

i just cannot believe a PREMIUM phone is such poor quality

i feel robbed, i feel defrauded...i feel tricked

I WILL NEVER BUY A SONY PRODUCT AGAIN IF i dont receive either a quality product or money back!

It seems that you had dropped the phone multiple times, think about that, if you drop your phone any phone the  glass will start cracking, perhaps microscopic fissures, and then one last drop crack the whole thing, of if the first drop was hard enough or the way it landed could crack it, that goes for ALL smartphones, there's no such thing as unbreakable phones, do contact your local Xperia Care

no. i m sorry. i dropped it two times. i dropped the samsung about 100 times. and I mean it. and not from 30-40 cms but from 1.50-1.60 on cement. no scratch. just destroyed margins (which is why i bought the sony - the samsung was starting to look ugly and i thought to make a change). SAMSUNG is still fully functional. if you want i can post here a photo of it, to see how destroyed the margins are.

so don t give me the...”you dropped multiple times”. phones are SUPPOSED to be dropped. most people drop their phones most of the times.

and on top on the official forums there are messages from official sony people saying gorilla glass or similar...gorilla glass scratches from 30-40 cm drop...

of course tomorrow i m going to customer care to see what they say. as i said. replace (and assure me you give me a model that has gorilla glass) or repay. i m not going even to accept a replace with same glass as this one...i don t have time every 3 weeks to visit a care center to swich a phone every time i drop it...

You've been lucky with your Samsung phone - My wifes S4 was dropped or knocked it off the sofa/setee (Depends what you call it) and the screen was obliterated and it fell on to a carpet/rug

Phones are supposed to be dropped? What really? Sure phones do fall but that is just nonsense. @Thommo is right you have been lucky. Listen to @uliwooly he has given you the best advise. Contacting Sony support is the best solution.

Concrete (cement) is one of the worst places for a phone to drop on.Reason being there are always inclusions in concrete, screen lands on one of them.I would say ,99.9% phone screen will go.My mate dropped his iPhone 6 from about 12" onto concrete and guess what...The screen shattered

people just need to remember that the glass on all phones is a very thin layer, so it will always be easy to break. your best option is to buy a cover and protect your phone
