Still need help copying part of a text message can only copy full message
Indeed, if you want to copy a message that you received or sent you have to copy the whole txt then edit, if you are typing then you can double tap on the word.
That's how i have been doing it pain when i get sent list of job and the address in one text. . my old phone allowed me to copy just part of text
You could download other messaging apps, perhaps it will allow you to copy paste like on your old phone
