Hi, I had the unfortunate experience of destroying my xperia s and now thanks to insurance have a new albiet different phone. I had created a backup and can extract the files through winrar. I am yet to find a way to find and import my contacts to another file to use elsewhere. Please help.
which type of backup do you have?
try something simple
on your PC access Gmail > click on contacts > if your contacts are there just sync them back

Tried it but can only get 5 files and they are all pictures (factory ones at that). Which files do I need to isolate to get my contacts file?
I'll have to get back to you on that, I don't back up anything with PCC its quite unreliable.
It has been a while since I have had to do this but from memory the contacts should be in a generic .vcf format which can be imported from the memory card.
