PCC has at some point stopped being able to backup call logs & contacts. SMS it does OK, but not the call logs. Anyone else have this? Don't know if it's to do with the last update or not.
I've been using adb to backup my apps and other data, but it doesn't do call logs without root.
Sony people won't be able to help you. I had the same probem last week but they were not even able to understand the problem. They used to ask stupid questions whenever I tried to contact them like am I using the same computer on which I took the backup....I even have a reference number for my case.
If any sony person reads this, please have the courtsey of acknowledging it.
blackbox, have you tried myphone explorer?I cannot say if it works or not,but you could try it.
Anybody else - stay WELL AWAY from myphone explorer!
It's stuffed full of malware and installs this horrible thing called SnapDo and completely screws Firefox. Wonderful.
I have been using MPE for about 3-4 years,no problems with it.Maybe the newer versions.
Looks like it.
I've managed to uninstall it (I hope), but my Firefox development stuff is all messed up. Urgh!
I am sorry,I knew it was a trusted app.Did you try google play for something to back up the logs?
Why you dont try to backup with built-in backup app??
No harm done. I think. Just had to restore Firefox and reinstall my add-ons. Seems OK now.
Titanium Backup seems pretty popular, but I think that needs root to access call logs. PCC seems to be the only thing that doesn't need root.
I've uninstalled myphoneexplorer - I even got a Google security alert pop up on my handset when I plugged in theUSB cable - never seen that before.
Not sure what's gone wrong with PCC - it was working up until a few weeks ago and I remember it got updated not long ago. I think I'll try reinstalling it.
I can recommend checking out adb if anyone's interested in backing up their downloaded apps and app data - works very well for that and very handy if you have an apk that's no longer available through PlayStore (like say Flappy Bird...).
Reinstalling PCC has done the trick - it's working fine now. I can see it was updated two days ago - I think that might be the problem. PCC also doesn't like USB debugging switched on when doing a backup.
I've never used the built in one - I prefer to store backups on my desktop pc.
