Contact Sync issues

My contacts won't sync properly between my Xperia S and my Outlook Exchange account. When i sync the two accounts I end up with lots of duplicate contacts on my Outlook account. Also, when i add a contact to my phone it doesn't get added to Outlook when i sync.

I have tried deleting the Exchange account and reinstalling but it didn't work. I also exported everything to Google Mail and merged the duplicates as it's easier to do this on GMail than Outlook. I then imported back to Outlook and everything was fine until i synced my phone then the same thing happened, i.e. lots of duplicates.

These problems only seem to have started since I updated to ICS.

Has anyone else had these issues and did you work out a fix?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers

I have not noticed any problems with contact sync using Exchange in ICS so far, you might be the first one.

Does this sync involve PC Companion? Or do you just sync directly with the Exchange server in the phone?

I used PC Companion to set up the contacts on the phone initially and it seemed to work fine. The duplicate problem seems to start when I later sync directly with the phone.

The issues with not picking up new contacts is when i sync directly with the phone too.

I have exactly yhe same problem. Have you found a solution yet?

It seems to be an issue since updating to ICS.....

What if you try to reset your phone? Or delete all the contacts and then re-sync with Google?

Check if this could help and keep me updated.

What do you mean by resetting? Go back to factory setting and reinstall completely?

As I have to use Exchange business wise, I would not like to sync through Google...

If you're not interested in syncing with Google perhaps you could use the program My phone explorer to sync your phone and MS Outlook locally.
