Last year (late April) I dropped my Xperia Z3 Compact and damanged the buttons on the side and as a result the power on button wouldn't work so I used my insurance and sent it off. They sent it back a week later "repaired". Since then I've had nothing but problems connecting it to a charger and an even bigger problem connecting it to a PC. The problem worsened on Sunday night and it wouldn't charge at all. Took it to a phone repair place in town and he said it sounded like a faulty connection and it would cost £40 and be back the next day. So I collect it the next day and lo and behold it's charging again but it's still being tempremental and tonight it's taken me an hour just to get it to charge. Moving the cable around seems to affect the charge but he was adament he has fixed the connector. Another repair place said it sounds like the repair place the insurance sent it off to has fitted a faulty power/volume flex.
Any ideas on what could be causing this horrible fault? This one drop looks to be a costly one. £35 last year, £40 this year so far!
It's been off again for repair and again it's come back still not working. Every accredited repair centre is at a loss at what is wrong. They're going to try again. What is odd is when the insurance sent it back the magnetic charging port was totally dead and it sounded like I was underwater whenever I phoned somebody.
A 2200 mAh battery bank wouldn't charge it however a 2600 mAh would however it was tempermental and if you knocked the cable it'd stop.
I've been brand loyal to Sony phones since 2004 but this is totally turning me off from ever owning a Sony phone again to be honest. Sony Support weren't much help, they just kept saying to send it to them but obviously I'd be charged again and also they would wipe the phone and with it not connecting to anything I can't back it up.
If anybody here even has the slightest idea to what could be causing this issue it would be a massive help as the original repair centre is not charging me again (and not wiping the phone either).
