Connecting an Xperia D2005 to a television

Hello.

I have recently acquired the above phone as a replacement.

Could someone please advise me if it is just not possible to connect that model to a television using the suplled USB power cable as I took for granted with my previous non Sony phone for years?

I dont mean to mirror the phones screen on the television screen.  I just need the teleivsion to gain access to the phones media folders on the phones SD card the same way plugging the same cable into a PC would (and indeed does succesfully)

Internet enquiries imply that I may need to purchase the MHL adapter but surely thats not necessary if the PC can read the phone with the normal USB cable?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

If you change the USB connectivity mode to MSC instead of MTP, your television should be able to detect the content on the SD card. Go to settings > Xperia connectivity > USB connectivity > MSC.
