Configure ps3 controller with mobile

Hai

I've my xperia S with ICS, and I want to figure out how to connect PS3 controller via bluetooth without rooting. I know other phones like samsung galaxy and htc one series can do this, so can you teach me how? Is it possible to do? i tried to check my compatibility usin 'sixaxis compatibility checker' but it shows to root my phone. is it advicable to root?

Can anyone please help me?

I don't think it's possible to do this Xperia S without root access at the time.

You are able to do this without Root but you will need a powered USB hub for £5 (some non powered ones work) & you need a USB on the Go cable for about £4 (sometimes refer to as UOTG cable.

Put your USB on the Go cable into the phone, then plug in the USB powered hub then your PS3 controller. (thats the cheap way)

The more expensive way is to purchase the Smart Dock from Sony for £35.

it looks like with cable..i want it wirelessly using bluetooth thats why im using ps3 controller but without root,is that possible?
