CK15i Text Pro Firmware Update - Sony Update = no driver!

I found out how to access my CK15i Service menu

- key #*878# to check last firmware number and update date.

From this I have learned my phone was last accessed/updated in September 2011

A new firmware update for Txt Pro CK15i/CK15a was made for release in November 2011 with many bug fixes and service updates such as YouTube access.

My big problem is that the Sony Update software crashes after inserting the usb lead and cannot find a driver for my phone leaving a yellow exclaimation "S1 Update" driver in device manager.

I have tried pointing the driver to the Sony ericsson folder on the C: drive but "NO DRIVER FOUND"

Can anyone else who has experienced this FAULT please advise

I have already tried updating with Microsoft firewall on and turned off

Win 7 Ultimate 32bit

Well No thanks to Ericsson but I spent a couple of hrs messing this Saturday and solved my own problem!

The bloody software is not set up correctly on install.

The drivers are left in .zip folders in the driver section. By unzipping the folders copying and pasting back into the driver section (32bit and usb zipped folders) my phone was eventually found, driver loaded and connected to the update service.

Update Service then reported that I had the latest firmware - but as I checked my "Service mode" as in post above - knew this to be a lie!

So I let it reinstall the software/firmware and it's working great with far better bigger interface icons sorted out, new software in different sections etc

It also now works as a mass storage device on Win 7 letting you drag 'n drop Music Albums, ringtones, Pictures, videos to the 16gb memory card

The sound is truly fantastic playing my mp3's which are ripped at 320kbps

It goes without saying - MEDIAGO (sony software) crashed and wouldn't load on my pc complaining about some other bit of software!
