Hi,
I am new to this forum. So please excuse my mistakes, and guide me when ever required. I am from India, and as Acro S is not released in INDIA I had purchased it from an importer, who has imported it from China. Now one thing I have noticed is, there is a Chinese Keyboard application always loaded in memory and that is not required. So can any one guide me how can I disable that keyboard? I can download any other multilingual keyboard which will be more relevent in Indian languages.
Thanks & regards
Anirudhha
Many applications can be disabled by going to Settings > App's > All > Select the app > Disable. Note that not all applications can be disabled.
I have a similar problem. I bought my Xperia S about two years ago. And recently with an unknown reason, its Chinese keyboard just disappears, so I can't type in any Chinese onto my facebook or line messages. I did a search of Xperia keyboard in the Setup and noticed that it is still working, as the "disable" button remains shaded, and certainly I can't disable it. So it should be working, but I just can't key in any Chinese! Please help!
Hello there!
I think I can help you. As Johan said earlier, you can diable apps from settings. But doing this will still keep the apks on your phone. However, it doens't matter since you cannot use the space allotted to the system.
The reason for getting the chinese keyboard is that your phone is imported from China. So, the firmware on your phone is that made for Chinese users, which will obvioulsy contain the Chinese keyboard.
What you can do is flash the World Generic firmware on your phone to get rid of this problem. But do this only if you understood what it meant. I mean to say that flashing is easy, but if you aren't sure what you are doing, a small mistake can brick your phone.
So in short, just disable it from the app settings, and set Xperia International Keyboard as the default input.
Hope this helps, folks!
