Checklist of Bugs on the Ice cream Sandwich to be fixed on JB! + bug fixes!!

Hello guys, in anticipation of Jelly Bean to be released soon, i thought i'd start a thread as a checklist of all the bugs that should be fixed on the Jelly Bean update for our XP's.

1. Camera issue on 8MP

2. Notification issues in regards to sound and LED

3. Lockscreen lag and UI lag

4. Browser lag (stock)

5. Sound issues with clarity and cracking with XLoud ON and OFF

6. Timescape sync problem

7. NFC connection problem with file transfers (transfer switches on bluetooth, file is not sent)

I think ive pointed to most of the common bugs experienced across the board by XP users, feel free to kindly add to the list as some bugs are not as common but are more user-specific.

This thread was started as a guidline to the expectations we XP users will have in regards to bugs to be fixed on the Jelly Bean update!

For all those wishing to update to JB, kindly do a full wipe of device to avoid facing any unexplained bugs!!

Those who are facing issues with the Album app, wipe the apps cache and data under Settings!

so my conclusions about JB after one day of use,

BUG FREE! TOTALLY! something i personally commend SONY for their great work.

i think all the issues faced in the first post have been resolved, although for me, the STAMINA MODE doesn't really make a difference in regards to battery life.

But overall the smoothness is really impressive, and as a music-lover really impressed with the sound improvements and added features for effects that add to the listening pleasure!

Shall also attempt the NFC file transfer with the Galaxy S3 later and report back!

Battery drain fix thanks to mithun_xperiap

I think the solution to the battery issue is battery Calibration. As i would like to share my exp with u guys i calibrated my battery(Since i am rooted) and now i guess the performace is increasing gradually. still need another full recharge discharge cycles.

Plz try this out and see if it helps: (Non Rooted Phones)

1) Once u Done with the JB installation Reeboot and keep ur phone aside for say 10 mins(Stop playing with it as soon as it reboots) DO NOT DO A THING LET THE PHONE SETTLE DOWN AND PREFERABLEY DO A FACTORY RESET

2)Once thats done charge ur device to 100% (Check ur charge not by the % indicator but thru the graph.) once it shows 100% reebot your device and i assume it would show 99% or yes its can even show u a much lower % after u reeboot.

3)Again Charge it for say 30 mins let it charge like say 15 mins even after it shows 100%.

4)Use your phone normally as u always do and make sure u drain it completely.(DO NOT RECHARGE IT IN BETWEEN)

5)RECHARGE IT COMPLETELY TO 100% NONSTOP !!

Repeat steps 4 and 5 atleast Thrice(4 charge discharge cycles prefered) and i hope it would help u get optimum performance out of your battery.

Yes i agree with alee1730. There are no bugs as of now on my Xperia P, and m happy with my new smooth zippy System UI. Battery Life is improving and all the major issues happening is due to improper Installation. Had the whole update been buggy my phone wouldnt  be working so well. What ever way of installations:

1) GUYS PLZ READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY DO IT PROPERLY

2) LEAVE UR PHONE ALONE FOR 10 MINS AFTER THE FIRST BOOTUP. DONT START FOOLING AROUND WITH IT THE INSTANT IT COMES UP LET IT SETTLE DOWN.

3)DO A FACTORY RESET AFTER THAT (i HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES WHEN I DIDNT DO THAT )

4)DO NOT BACK UP USING THE STOCK BACK UP AND RESTORE APP(i have personally suffered many times) INSTEAD USE BACK UP USING PCC OF IF UR A ROOTED USER THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A NANDROID BACKUP(GODLY!!)

PLZ TRY IT OUT M SURE IT WOULD HELP.

I update jb but.my gps still not working... I downloaded gps test plus and my phone can find some sattelites but not using them. What to do??? Plz helpp. I can find my location when I am connected to wifi... Sorry for my bad english 🙂

hi alee my xperia p jelly bean is not giving notification led alert for facebook and watsapp ,,, wat is the reason and how to fix it.. also album not working at times and it works for few mins aft clearing the cache from settings, is thera any permanent solution ?????

Yes it will delete ur downloaded apps,your contacts,Google accounts everything except whats in your sd card.(Your phone will be as it was when u unboxed it the first time, except that ur Sd card will still have your songs,videos,photos and all data DO NOT TICK ON FORMAT SD CARD)

better u download the androzip https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.agilesoftresource&hl=en and back up all your apks ,

Back up your contacts into your Sim or Sd card and then Factory reset ur device.

There is a bug or some setting problem after JB I don't know but I'm facing a problem with my phone book, in ICS if there are several numbers associated with a contact like main,mobile, fax etc and u choose one number as default contact , then every time u hit the dial icon it automatically dials the default contact.You can choose default contact in JB but you have to select the no for dialling, then what's the use of default contact.

                  Is anybody noticed this ?

Glad to hear that you like the new software.

Regarding NFC, if it still doesn't send the file, would it be possible for you to try sending a file using NFC/bluetooth to another Xperia?

i shall confirm that NFC is working and responding, sent file to a GS3 fine!

Just 1 question Rickard, is NFC supposed to trigger bluetooth to transfer data/file to another device??
