Charging problems after .402 update

Hi all. Since updating to the 402 update my charging has basically been broken... When I use the magnetic charging dock it briefly shows that it's charging, and the LED comes on, but then it will blink off again, and stop charging, reppeatedly connecting and disconnecting. PC USB charging does the same thing, or just doesn't connect at all. I've tried multiple magnetic chargers and multiple PC USB slots...

The only way I've managed to charge successfully was via USB wall charger.

Up until the 402 update I was able to charge my phone using any cable, via PC USB, wall charger or magnetic charging dock, and never had a problem.

Has anybody else had this issue, or any suggestions?

I'm yet to do a "repair" because frankly I'm sick of having to wipe this phone and set it up again... (this is already my second unit because the first had to be sent back due to dead pixels and misaligned glass), but I guess that's my next port of call. The problem does still happen in safe mode, though.

I have had interrupted charging on both magnetic charging port and the micro USB. It the sats that its discharging faster than it can charge. This is my third Xperia Z2 and I am sick and tired of it.

Charge it at a wall socket, the methods mentioned by you have less power output.

After being intermittent all day and refusing to use magnetic charging even after multiple restarts, safe boots, etc... my phone has now started working again just like it used to without me doing anything differently... so I've no idea what the problem was ¬_¬... But hey, problem solved I guess, hopefully it doesn't rear its head again!

Just a thought anyway, the charging dock is plugged into a wall socket, so would it not result in purely the same current going in as it would otherwise?

Ah well.

It depends on the output of the dock.

Unfortunately the problem is still here...

I managed to charge it to 90%, but now the light just flashes on-off-on-off-on-off instead of charging.

I changed the cable setup, and now it seems to be working better, kind of. It still flashes on and off at least 3 times before settling... so it doesn't seem right.

Slightly at a loss with this, I hope it's not a hardware failure. Will be interested to hear if anybody else has a problem.

As for the dock... I'd have assumed that the metal contacts were just directly transferring whatever was on the wire, which would make the output entirely dependant upon the charger power at the wall, but hey ho.

It cannot be,there must be an adapter somehow placed. The phone cannot take more than 5 V.

You should try a software repair.
