It is normal.It won't show any complete messages.But it will light up the LED Strip in green after reaching 90%charge(it only lights up if you enable notification lights in light effect department in display settings).
If you want to know if it is fully charge or not,turn off your phone,charge your phone and press the power button(as if you want to open the lock screen).There,it will show a battery status.
