Charging problem with Xperia SP using USB

my phone isn't charging

I read some forums and have tried a reset the button inside till it buzzes but I'm stuck with a phone that goes to sony with a red light then shows a battery and flashing red bar then nothing no light no screen nothing

I'd really appreciate help

Charge it for 2 hours at least,try the software repair.

I just have charged for 2 hrs

it was only at 1%

then it went off

I reset with internal button then put back on charger

tried to turn on it went blank but now I have a red bar all the time

what is the software repair?

It will reinstall latest firmware and erase your internal memory.Practically a fresh install.

If you keep it charging for 2 hours,it should have enough battery.Yes,you will lose.

thanks for being patient and helping,  it doesn't seem to get passed 1%  and now charging for 3.5 hrs but I will try it.  how do I  do a software repair?

Not even if you force shutdown it will not show more than 1%?
